I tend to be very forthcoming with my writing, but as far as my recent posts go, ya'll have really only seen the front rooms of my home since going live in early March.
That's why for the month of April, I'll be launching the Ris is This Home Tour Series. This 4 week series will feature a different room each Sunday so that you can become better acquainted with my design style and decor. Bare it all, if you will. Don't worry, I'll shave.
This week, I'd like to introduce the Master Bedroom. Talk about getting REAL intimate REAL quick. But hell, going big because I'm already home.
When my man and I first moved in together, he had JUST bought a new bedroom set (AKA untouchable). It was very well made and hardy, but intensely masculine for my taste. Black leather? C'mon now. I let it roll as is in our first house, but once we moved, I was determined to balance it out with some frilly shit. I plan to have the leather reupholstered with something less gladiator at some point, but for now it works just fine and is easy to dust.
I'm not one to display wedding photos all over the house, but the intimacy of the bedroom was the perfect place to hang some of the favorites... and to remind myself that I'll likely never be that skinny again, ha. Such is life.
This sweet little music box used to be in my grandmother's living room, and I wind it from time to time while putting away laundry. It's such a wonderful reminder to say hi to her in heaven.
Hope you enjoyed the first post of the series! I tried really hard to not open with an MTV Cribs, "this is where the magic happens" joke. See you next week!
